About the service
What does a private matchmaker do?
A private matchmaker searches on your behalf. We learn what matters to you and your family, find and verify people who fit, and introduce you one at a time with our reasons explained. You meet fewer people, but each introduction has been considered by someone who knows you, rather than surfaced by an algorithm.
How is this different from a matrimony site or an app?
Sites and apps give you a large database and leave the searching, screening and judging to you. We do that work for you, privately. Nobody browses your profile, everyone we introduce is verified first, and you receive a defined number of introductions with written reasoning, plus honest feedback after each meeting.
Who is Dilaire for?
Indian professionals and founders in the metros, NRIs in the US, UK, UAE, Canada, Australia and Singapore, people looking to marry again after divorce or loss, and parents searching on behalf of a son or daughter. What our clients share is seriousness about marriage and little time for the usual routes.
Do you guarantee a marriage?
No, and you should be wary of anyone who does. We commit to a minimum number of carefully vetted introductions in writing, and if we fall short by the end of your term we extend it at no cost. Whether a relationship becomes a marriage is, rightly, up to the two people involved.
How long does a search usually take?
Our terms run 12 to 24 months, and introductions are spread across that time so each one gets proper attention. Some clients meet the right person early; others need most of the term. We will tell you honestly, at the start and along the way, how your search is going.
Can parents apply on behalf of their son or daughter?
Yes, and many do. We will want to speak with your son or daughter early on, because the search only works if they want it. After that, families can be as involved as the person searching wishes, from reading every introduction to simply being kept informed.

Investment and terms
Why don't you publish your fees?
Because no two searches are the same. A search in one city differs from one across three countries with families on two continents, and a single published number would mislead one of them. We share the investment in writing at your first private conversation, before anything is agreed, and we never price by your wealth.
How is the investment with Dilaire decided?
By the depth of the search: how many places we look, how many curated introductions we make, and how closely we work with your family. You receive a written proposal with the tier, term, minimum introductions and investment, and no payment is taken until you have read the terms.
Do you charge a success fee?
No. You agree one investment, in writing, before the search begins. A bonus on engagement would give us a reason to rush you, and we would rather not have one.
Can I pause my search?
Yes. Work, health and family can interrupt a search. Let us know in writing and your term pauses with you: up to three months on Select, six on Signature, and flexibly on Private. Introductions resume when you are ready.

Verification and privacy
What do you verify before an introduction?
With their consent, we verify identity, education, current employment and marital status for everyone we introduce, and we check again before each introduction. We see the documents and keep a record that the check was done, but not copies of the documents themselves.
Who will see my information?
Only the founders working on your search. Your details are never shown in a database or shared with anyone you have not agreed to be introduced to, and nothing about you is used for advertising. Our Verification and privacy page sets out exactly who sees what.
Do you ask about caste, religion or income?
Never on our website. If community, faith or other preferences matter to you or your family, you can tell us on a call and we will discuss them openly. We do not label, rank or price people by caste, class, colour or wealth, and we decline requests that rest on discrimination.
How do I withdraw my details?
Email us at any time and we will delete your details, keeping only what the law requires us to keep, and confirm in writing when it is done. Withdrawing is as simple as applying.

For NRIs
Do you work with NRIs living outside India?
Yes. We work with Indians in the United States, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Canada, Australia and Singapore, whether they want to meet someone where they live, someone in India, or someone open to moving. Calls are scheduled in your time zone.
How do you handle time zones and distance?
We schedule every call in your local time, run family conversations on video so parents in India and children abroad can join together, and plan first meetings around visits home or travel. Signature and Private searches can cover up to three, or unlimited, locations.
Can my family in India be involved?
Yes, as much as you wish. Many NRI searches begin with parents in India. We speak with both generations, agree who receives which updates, and make sure the person searching always has the final word.
Do you help with the legal side of a cross-border marriage?
We are not lawyers and do not give legal or immigration advice. We can point you to the general steps, such as marriage registration and visas, and introduce you to independent professionals who advise on them.

Second marriage
Do you work with divorced or widowed clients?
Yes, with care and without judgement. A second marriage often means a clearer sense of what matters, and sometimes children, a home and a career to consider. We search for people who will understand that, and we never treat a previous marriage as something to hide.
Can I begin while my divorce is still in progress?
We are glad to talk and to plan your search, but we only make introductions once you are legally free to marry. That protects you, and the people we introduce.
How is a previous marriage shared with introductions?
Honestly, and at the right time. We agree with you beforehand what is shared and when. Marital status is verified for everyone we introduce, so both people begin from the truth.
What if I have children?
Tell us on the call. We search for people who are open to a family that already exists, and we take your children's needs into account in every introduction.

For professionals
I travel constantly. How much time will this take?
A 20-minute fit call, an onboarding conversation of about an hour, and then time for the introductions themselves. We handle the searching, screening and scheduling, and fit meetings around your calendar and travel.
Will anyone at my workplace find out?
Not from us. We confirm your employment discreetly, through documents you share, rather than by contacting your employer, and we never show your profile publicly. Introductions know only what you have agreed they can.
